Associate Director, Alternative Operations

Role Summary

The role will report directly to Director, Alternative Operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will support the day-to-day operations of the Private Equity funds and mandates, including but not limited to the following detailed responsibilities:
  1. File transaction notices, reports, emails, legal documents etc in a timely and organized manner
  2. Process transactions such as capital call and distribution, fee payment, cash transfer, investment payment, etc
  3. Perform daily cash reconciliation and resolve any discrepancy
  4. Prepare regular/ad hoc investment reports for internal/external parties
  5. Review quarterly NAV packs prepared by fund administrators and follow up on discrepancies
  6. Review quarterly capital account statements submitted by investee funds
  7. Coordinate annual financial statements preparation and regulatory filing
  • Work closely with the Investment team and provide support in portfolio management activities
  • Oversee service providers such as fund administrators, custodians and auditors. Also liaise with co-advisors and other service providers as and when matters arise.
  • Liaise with General Partners, clients, and clients’ custodians/auditors as and when matters arise
  • Assist in new investment subscriptions
  • Assist in the preparation work of launching new funds
  • Handle funds investors’ and internal management’s inquiries and information request

Education Qualification

  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance or other related disciplines

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in PE fund administration and fund accounting
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of PE terminologies (such as in limited partnership agreements) and performance calculations
  • Experience in both direct investments and funds-of-funds investments
  • Experience in GP/LP structures and setups is a plus
  • Collaborative and open-minded, with a strong ability to work effectively in a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a systematic approach, with the ability to follow up closely on matters
  • Positive attitude, able to achieve delivery targets within tight timeline and work under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced skills in Excel or any programming languages, fast learner in new systems and applications
  • Proficient in writing grammatically correct English
  • Good communication, able to effectively articulate and engage in discussions and conversation with stakeholders across different levels
