Head of Data Strategy & Management

Role Summary

This role will report directly to the COO.

The incumbent will be principally responsible for establishing and implementing policies, systems and processes of Fullerton with regard to the governance, use and analysis of data.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for formulating and promoting the data vision and strategy of Fullerton to meet current needs, but also evolve the strategy to ensure that the company derives value far into the future.
  • Design and lead the implementation of data capabilities (internal and customer facing solutions) in order to support the digitalization of the business and drive innovation.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the development and implementation of a data operating model and procedures that will enforce data governance, quality and controls, and vendor relationships across the firm.
  • Establish data policies and standards including regulatory requirements and industry data security best practices.
  • Implement procedures, structure, roles and responsibilities for the effective management of information assets.

Education Qualification

  • Degree holder.

Experience and Skills

  • At least 10-15 years of relevant experience in conceptualizing and delivering Data Management frameworks and front-to-back EDM adoption and implementation.
  • Highly developed analytical skills to leverage current and emerging data and analytical techniques to address business challenges and opportunities in an actionable way.
  • Experience in leading definition and delivery of any Data Governance, Data Quality and Controls and Data Servicing for regulatory and other critical initiatives for financial institutions or preferably in the asset management industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and influencing skills set.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to reconcile multiple conflicting priorities and develop action plans that meet both short- and long-term business needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience, and a commitment to leading change to influence firms mentality and attitude towards data.
